Day 01 - Wednesday - Delhi

Your lifetime journey on the Palace on Wheels starts from the Delhi Cant. Railway Station at 17.45 hrs, where the guests are accorded with a warm, traditional welcome. Dinner is served onboard at 20.00 hrs and you are on the way to Jaipur.

Day 02 - Thursday - Jaipur
Arrival: 02.00 hrs. Departure 19.30 hrs
Elephants and a Shehnai recitation greet you at your arrival at the pink city of Jaipur. You have your lunch at famous Rambagh Palace Hotel. In Jaipur you visit Hawa Mahal, the Jantar Mantar (the largest observatory built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh), Nahargarh fort, Amber fort and many more places. You return back to Palace on Wheels around 18.30hrs where the dinner awaits you onboard.

Day 03 - Friday - Jaisalmer
Arrival: 08.15 hrs. Departure 23.00 hrs
Jaisalmer is one of the popular tourist destinations of Rajasthan. The city is famous for its golden fort made of yellow sandstones. The Patwon ki haveli and Nathmalji ki haveli are the finest examples of the sculptor's skills. The sand dunes outside Jaisalmer provide you an excellent place for a camel ride. After lunch on board you can enjoy a camel safari in the sand dunes. Dinner on the sand dunes under the moonlit sky is another highlight of your visit. You can enjoy the cultural programs at a hotel in Jaisalmer and then return to the Palace on Wheels and the train then leaves for Jodhpur at night.

Day 04 - Saturday - Jodhpur
Arrival: 07.00 hrs. Departure 15.30 hrs
Next morning the Palace on Wheels reaches Jodhpur, the second largest city of Rajasthan fortified by a high stonewall with seven gates and several fortresses. The famous tourist spots here include Mehrangarh Fort, Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana. You have your lunch at the majestic Umaid Bhawan Palace and return to the Palace on Wheels.

Day 05 - Sunday - Sawai Madhopur
Arrival: 04.00 hrs. Departure: 10.30 Hrs
Sawai Madhopur is famous for Ranthambore National Park, one of the most famous national parks of India. Here you can enjoy a safari ride to explore a variety of wildlife including tigers, chital, deer, monkeys and many more like them. Another not to be missed tourist attraction here is Ranthambore Fort. After that you return to the Palace on Wheels and leave for Chittorgarh.

Arrival Chittorgarh: 15.30 Hrs
Chittorgarh is known as the city of bravery and romance. The 7th century Chittorgarh Fort, has witnessed many wars fought over to protect the dignity and respect of the beautiful queen, Padmini. Other attractions here include Vijay Stambh (Tower of Victory) and the Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame). After visiting Chittorgarh, you start your journey for Udaipur.

Day 06 -Monday - Udaipur
Arrival: 15.30 hrs
You reach Udaipur, the city of lakes next day and take a tour to the palaces, forts and temples of Udaipur. You also visit the most beautiful sites of Udaipur, the Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, which appear to rise from the blue waters of Lake Pichola. After that you have lunch at the Lake Palace Hotel.

Day 07 - Tuesday - Bharatpur-Agra
Arrival: 06.30 hrs. Departure 11.45 hrs
The Palace on Wheels arrives in Bharatpur in the early hours of the day. After breakfast, you are set to visit the world famous Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary also famous as Keoladeo Ghana National Park. You can see here many varieties of birds including the rare migratory birds like Siberian cranes.

Day 07 - Tuesday - Agra
Arrival - 14.30 Hrs
The same day you arrive at Fatehpur Sikri here you can visit a mosque built by the Mughal emperor Akbar, dedicated to Sheikh Salim Chishti, a Muslim Sufi saint. After that you have lunch at a hotel in Agra and visit the wonderful Taj Mahal, constructed by Shah Jahan, as a symbol of love for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.


Day 08 - Wednesday - Delhi
Arrival - 06.00 hrs
You have your dinner on board get set to return to Delhi. The luxury train arrives at Delhi Cantt Railway station the next morning. You have your breakfast on board the train. And here your unforgettable journey comes to its conclusion.

Note :

  •     50% of tariff for children between 5 years and 12 years of age.

Booking Policy:

No show/ En route termination of tour/amendment:

    No Show - In case of No Show / Non-arrival of the guest, no refund or adjustment in future travel will be possible. The whole amount shall be treated as forfeited.

    En route termination of tour - In case of termination of tour by the guest, for any reasons, no refund or adjustment for future travel will be possible. The amount for unused portion of the tour shall be treated as forfeited.

Amendment - Is only possible under the circumstances like Natural Disaster / Natural Calamity or Serious Health Problem's (this needs to be supported by doctor's certificate) and is subject to availability. No refunds are possible and every case be decided on merits on a case to case basis.

Day 01 - Sunday - New Delhi
Your journey would begin at the Safdarjung Railway station in Delhi. At the station you would be treated to a nice and conventional Indian welcome. Your journey kicks off at night and would herald a seven day long dream through the mysteries of Rajasthan. Your journey starts at 16.00 hours and the train leaves at 18.30 hours.

Day 02 - Monday – Jaipur - Arrival 03.00 hrs. Departure 19.30 hrs
The initial stop of your tour on the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is Jaipur. It is among the most properly planned cities of the world. It is Rajasthan’s capital and is also dubbed the Pink City. This exotic city, was established in 1727 A.D by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II.

You would be exploring Jaipur in a coach that is equipped with air-conditioning facilities. You would be visiting the Hawa Mahal which is also known as the Palace of Winds. It is a splendid building comprising of five floors. It is right there on the main street. Its windows are built out of sandstone and look like semi octagonal honey combs. Afterwards you would be going to the Amber Fort. Here you would be taking a ride on elephants for climbing the hill. You would take your lunch at a five star hotel. After your lunch you would be going to the City Palace Museum and Observatory.


Day 03 - Tuesday – Jaisalmer Arrival 09.00 hrs. Departure 23.45 hrs
Jaisalmer is in the midst of the Thar desert. It was set up in 1156 AD by Rawal Jaisal. The most impressive tourist attraction at Jaisalmer is the fort that has been built from yellow sandstone. It is a huge structure that dwarfs the city. The architectural excellence of this city is reflected in its mansions. Some of the major mansions here are Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Salim Singh-ki-haveli and the Patwon-ki-haveli . Here you can buy pattu shawls, mirror work, trinkets, embroidered articles, silver jewelry, wooden boxes and curios.
Your lunch would served on board. After your lunch you would be going for a ride on camels in the sand dunes. Your dinner would be at a five star hotel and would be accompanied with a cultural performance.

Day 04 - Wednesday – Jodhpur Arrival 07.00 hrs. Departure 15.30 hrs
On the 4th day you would be going to Jodhpur. It is surrounded by a stone wall that is pretty high and has seven gates along with a number of citadels. It is the second biggest city in Rajasthan. It was set up in 1459 AD by Rao Jodha. The Mehrangarh fort is the major attraction. Some other tourist attractions are Moti Mahal, Sileh Khana, Sheesh Mahal, Daulat Khana, Phool Mahal and Jaswant Thada. You would have your lunch at the Palace hotel and then you need to come back to the train. At Jodhpur you could buy breeches, paintings, embroidered shoes, ties, metal curios, dyed fabrics and silverware.

Day 05 - Thursday - Sawai Modhopur Arrival 04.00 hrs. Departure 10.30 hrs
On the fifth day you would be going to Sawai Modhopur. The city has named after Maharaja Sawai Modho Singh. After your breakfast you would be going to the Ranthambhor National Park. Here you would see the remnants of a fort that had been built in the 10th century AD. This is the best place if you want to capture the tigers and their ways of life on camera. The total area of this park is 392 square kilometers. Here you would be find some other animals like hyenas, jackals and foxes. At Sawai Modhopur you would be able to buy exclusive toys, costumes and ethnic jewelry.

Arrival Chittaurgarh 16.00 hrs
On the fifth day itself you would be coming to Chittaurgarh on the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels after your lunch. This location has a tremendous amount of historical importance. This place breathes in history and you would be seeing that first hand for yourself.


Day 06 - Friday - Udaipur Arrival 07:30 hrs. Departure 17.30 hrs
On the sixth day you would come to Udaipur. Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar found the city of Udaipur at 1559 AD after the Mughals threw out the Sisodia dynasty. The major tourist attractions at Udaipur are the Jag Mandir and the Jag Niwas. You would have your lunch at a five star hotel and then visit he City Palace.

Day 07 - Saturday - Bharatpur / Agra Arrival 06.30 hrs. Departure 9.00 hrs
On the morning of the 7th day you would go to Bharatpur, which is the capital of Maharaja Suraj Mal . After you had your breakfast you would go to Keoladeo Ghana National Park, which is a major bird sanctuary of the world. Here you would find a number of birds like Egrets, Water Fowls and Siberian Cranes.

Day 07 - Saturday – Agra Arrival 12.00 hrs. Departure 21.00 hrs
When you arrive at Agra you would going to the Agra Fort. Once you finish your lunch you would be going to the Taj Mahal. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan after his wife Mumtaj Mahal passed away. It is a well known monument. The Pietra Dura inlay work of the Taj Mahal is famous as are the jewelry and leather products of Agra.

Day 08 - Sunday - Delhi Arrival 04.00 hrs
You would arrive at the Safdarjung Railway station in Delhi. You would have your breakfast on the train itself. Your journey would come to an end here and would leave you with pleasant memories.

Deccan Odyssey




Day 01 - Wednesday – Mumbai

You start your memorable journey on the Deccan Odyssey at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai in the evening at 16.40 hrs. You are served with tea and Dinner on board.


Day 02 - Thursday – Ratangiri

Arrival: 07.40 hrs. Departure 16.00 hrs 
The train arrives at Bhoke Rilway station in the morning. After having your breakfast on board you start your journey to Rai Jetty by a well furnished Air-conditioned bus. Here you can enjoy a boat ride from Rai jetty to Jaigad Fort. After this you leave for Ganapatipule by road. You can explore finest beach along the Konkan coast on your way to Ganapatipule. Have fun on the beach and lunch at a beach resort. After you again Ride the bus to Ratnagiri town. Here you visit Ratnadurg Fort, Lokmanya Tilak Smarak and Ratnagiri Bazaar and you leave for Ratnigiri Railway Station to board the Deccan Odyssey. You have your dinner and stay on the luxury train overnight.


Day 03 - Friday – Sindhudurg

Arrival: 08.25hrs. Departure 20.00 hrs 
You arrive at Sindhudurg Nagari Railway Station in the morning. On an air-conditioned luxury bus you depart for Malvan Jetty here you visit the Sindhudurg Sea Fort by a boat. Then you leave for Tarkali Beach Resort, where you can have fun on the beach and lunch at a beach resort. After you go on a boat cruise in Tarkarli Creek to Kalsa Jetty.

From here you Leave for Sawantwadi on a bus and can enjoy shopping at ' Shilpagrama' the crafts village. Then you return back to your train at Sawantwadi Railway Station and have your dinner and stay on the luxury train overnight.


Day 04 - Saturday – Goa

Arrival: 07.30hrs. Departure 17.15 hrs 
You arrive at Karmali Railway Station in the morning and board bus to visit tourist spots in old Goa. Here you visit Basilica of Born Jesus Church, Se Cathedral Church and the Church of St. Francis of Assissi, a museum for Goan antiques. After you proceed to Panjim by bus. Here you have your lunch at Fort Aguada Beach Resort. After lunch you go to see Dona Paula, a small palm fringed beach with casuarinas groves and tranquility. You also Visit Fontanhas, the Latin quarters at Panjim. Then you return back to board the train from Madgaon railway station.

Day 05 - Sunday - Pune City

Arrival: 08.15hrs. Departure 15.00 hrs 
You arrive at Pune in the morning. Pune is famous as the cultural capital of Maharashtra. From here you Board a bus to visit Kelkar Museum which houses a variety of artifacts of the 17th-19th centuries and The world famous Osho Asharam, which is on of the biggest center for mediation and spiritual growth. After you have your Lunch at Hotel Le Meridian and visit the Tribal Museum having collection of about 1980 rare and precious articles related to tribal life. Then you drive past Synagouge and Visit the Aga Khan Palace, a museum dedicated to Gandhi family. Then you can enjoy the 'Sound and Light Show' at Shaniwarwada. In the evening you board the train from Pune railway station.


Day 06 - Monday – Aurangabad

Arrival: 08.30hrs. Departure 18.00 hrs 
You arrive at Aurangabad in the morning. After that you board a luxury bus to visit the historical Daulatabad Fort. Then you visit famous Ellora caves, a World Heritage site, that houses about 34 cave temples dedicated Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. After lunch at Hotel Taj, you are ready to visit the Shivaji Museum which houses weapons and antiques of the great Maratha Empire. Other important tourist spots here include Aurangabad Caves No. 7 and 8, Bibi Ka Maqbara (a replica of Taj Mahal). Late in the evening, you board the train from Aurangabad railway station.


Day 07 - Tuesday - Ajanta Caves & Nashik

Arrival: 08.00hrs. Departure 22.30 hrs 
You arrive at Jalgaon railway station in the morning and board a bus to proceed to visit renowned Buddhist caves of Ajanta, a World Heritage Site. Here you can see some of the finest paintings and sculptures of the period ranging from 2nd century BC to 7th century AD. Then you board the train at Bhusawal railway station and proceed to Nashik. At Nashik you visit Panchawati Ghat and Sula Winery Yard. Late in the night you board the train at Nashik railway station. After having a farewell dinner you depart for Mumbai.


Day 08 - Wednesday – Mumbai

Arrival: 08.15hrs 
You have your breakfast on board and reach Mumbai in the morning. Here your journey of lifetime comes to its conclusion.

    Any leg of minimum 2 nights (subject to availability) will be given at the above tariff. Thus, Goa-Mumbai (5 Nights) and Mumbai-Goa (2 Nights) segments will be sold as per availability.
    However, if a person undertakes the day program at Goa and Mumbai, an extra USD 130 will be charged
    Service tax @ 2.58% will be charged on the gross ticket value

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation charges are as follows:

    All cancellation must be informed by Fax/E-mail to the Central Reservation Division at Head Office, Mumbai. A letter of confirmation regarding the same must also be posted to the above mentioned address.
    No interruptions will be entertained through refund or adjustment whatsoever on the commencement of tour.
    If booking cancelled 60 days prior to departure - 5% of ticket value
    If booking cancelled 30-59 days prior to departure - 20% of ticket value
    If booking cancelled 15-29 days prior to departure - 50% of ticket value

Day 4 - Mysore – Hassan - Mysore

Drive from Mysore to Hassan.

 

Drive through lush tropical landscapes to Halebid and Belur - Built in the 12th and 13th century in the superb baroque style, these temples are carved of stone and are truly magnificent. As one architect and critic said "These friezes carved with a minute elaboration of detail are one of the most marvellous exhibitions of human labour to be found even in the patient East". The temple at Belur is famed for its profusely ornamented exterior, and the one at Halebid for its sculptured figures and open-air museum. Visit Hampi - A world heritage centre, Hampi is the most beautiful and evocative of all the ruins in Karnataka. The erstwhile capital of Vijayanagara kingdom, Hampi is full of delightful surprises. Like the King's balance where kings were weighed against grain, gold or money which was then distributed to the poor. The Queen's bath with its arched corridors, projecting balconies and the lotus-shaped fountains that once sprayed perfumed water, the two storied Lotus Mahal with recessed archways, the huge Elephant stables. The splendid Vithala temple with its musical pillars and the stone chariot, the Virupaksha temple - still used for worship, Ugra Narasimha the 6.7m tall monolith. The Pushkarini Tank and the Mahanavami Dibba and many other interesting sites that are still being excavated.

Visit Aihole & Pattadakal

 

Aihole - famous as the cradle of Indian temple architecture - has over 125 temples, all intricately carved and rich in detail. The oldest temple here, is perhaps the 5th century Lad Khan. The Durgigudi is particularly interesting and unique, being circular in shape and surmounted by primitive gopuram. The Hutchmall temple, the Ravalpadi cave temple, the Konti temple complex, the Uma Maheshwari temple, the Jai Meguthi temple and the two-storied Buddhist temple are the other attractions at Aihole.

 

Pattadakal has 10 major temples representing early Chalukyan architecture. It lies on the banks of the river Malaprabha and used to be the place where the Chalukyan Kings (7 to 9 century) were crowned. The oldest temple in this group is the Sanghmeshwara. The Mallikarjuna temple has pillars depicting the birth and life of Krishna. The largest of the temples, the Virupaksha has sculptures and panels depicting scenes from the epics, the Ramayana and Mahabhararta. The Papanath temple in the northern style has impressive carvings on pillars and on the ceiling.

En route termination of tour - In case of termination of tour by the guest, for any reasons, no refund or adjustment for future travel will be possible. The amount for unused portion of the tour shall be treated as forfeited.

The Heritage on wheels halts at the first station in Bikaner, a gripping beauty on the sands of the desert. The place was founded by Rao Bika Ji, in 1488 AD. To explore this beautiful city, the A/C coach carries you to forts of Bikaner, a real architectural marvel embellished with the red and pink stones.

This is followed by visit to Bikaner Haat and thereafter to Gajner Palace, an incomparable jewel of the Thar desert. At Gajner you can enjoy the exclusive camel safari. After lunch at Gajner, take off for Lal Garh Palace famous for its lattice work and filigree work. Get back to your luxurious coach around 6.30 pm. Have your dinner on board.
